Mindful Moments – Manifesting Edition Part 1

Hi Reader!

I hope you were able to catch both of my episodes of Mom on the Verge where I logged my experience of a 21 day manifestation challenge I took part in. I have been doing the internal work for a long time, but it truly never ends. There is always something more to learn and discover about myself, how I see the world and what is holding me back from up leveling my life in the ways I want. Just like we refer to yoga, meditation, breath work and many other tools for mindfulness and self discovery practices, so is learning about yourself. It’s a practice, and one that never ends. We are constantly growing and changing and every experience we have changes us. Have you ever read a book and then read it again a few years later and gotten something completely different from it? Or heard a song you have heard a million times only to understand the lyrics from a completely different angle? Or watched a tv show or movie and then rewatched it and saw things you didn’t see the first time around? Ever wonder why? The book, song, show and movie have remained the same, but the observer has changed. And that’s a beautiful thing. But it means that if we want to always be in touch with the most important person in our lives….ourselves. We have to take time to continuously know ourselves and nurture a relationship with ourselves. I invite you to use the next 2 newsletters as a way to get to know yourself better in the next 21 days. Grab and journal and do one exercise a day and see what happens. You may discover a lot about yourself, AND…..you may manifest your desires in the process. Don’t take it too seriously though. Just have fun Reader! As you will learn, manifesting is all about your energetic state! So let’s start cultivating the energy of what you want to experience with these practices.

Manifesting Day By Day: Part 1

Day 1: Choosing Your Desire. What would you like to manifest in life? If you are anything like me, you might be thinking….how much time do you have Katie? I have a lot! You aren’t alone. We all have many desires in life, but for the purposes of this 21 days, I would like you to choose just 1. Choose one thing you would like to see come into your life and write it down in as much detail as you can. For example, if it’s a house, write down where it would be located, how much it would cost, how many rooms it would have, in what type of location, the number of bedrooms, bathrooms and even what color it would be. Go wild with detail. How would having that house make you feel? Be as specific as you can and have fun!

Day 2: Change Your Vibration. Manifesting really is ALL about the energy you bring to the world. The things is, we are always manifesting, the question is, are we doing is consciously or unconsciously? Take a moment to reflect on fear based thoughts that tend to run in a loop in your head. One of my examples was “I don’t have enough time.” When you catch yourself having one of those thoughts throughout the day, pause, identify that it is a negative or fear based thought and thank the thought for teaching you what you don’t want. Then, reach for the next best thought that feels good and true. My flip was “I have enough time to do the things that really matter to me” and “Success is not determined by time, it is determined by intention.”

Day 3: What Are You A Yes For? It’s time to claim the feelings you want in this life. Whenever we want to manifest something, it seems like it is about the thing, but REALLY, it’s about the feeling we get when we have the thing. So what feelings are you trying to manifest? Going back to the house example, maybe it is security, safety, the warmth of feeling at home, the ability to express yourself or the feeling of providing for people you love. Write down the feelings you are calling in.

Day 4: The Stream Of Well Being. There is only a stream of well being that flows, you can allow it, or resist it, but it flows just the same.” Abraham Hicks. We can either choose to live in resistance or in flow. Flow is where all good things come from. So take some time to examine thoughts and emotions that are in resistance to your desire and write them down. Returning to the house example, maybe you think “I don’t have enough money” or “The housing market is too out of control.” Maybe no one in your family has ever owned a home so you don’t think it is possible for you, you feel unworthy. Maybe you question your ability to figure out the details of purchasing and caring for a home. You feel incapable. What ever the thoughts and feelings are, write them down and then recognize, they are only thoughts. Thoughts are not facts. They are chemical reactions in the brain. Now, take a few minutes to visualize your desire. You can close your eyes and spend time picturing it, you can draw it, you can make a vision board of it. Do whatever helps you to bring it to life. And LIVE in it! See it, feel it, trust it. Be there. How does it feel? Then commit to returning to this high vibrational state over and over. Return to the stream of wellbeing. Here are a few ways you can do that:

Focus On What You Want Instead Of What You Don’t Want

Meditate/Say Affirmations

Do Things that Bring You Joy Everyday

Day 5: Live As If. Dwell in the feelings of what you want to cultivate. Act and speak as if you have the thing or are doing the thing you desire. Dress in the way you would dress, buy the things you would buy, speak to the people you would speak to etc. A good way to do this practically is to read your desire statement and then ask yourself what is one small action you could take today to support your desire. Then….you probably guessed it, take that action.

Day 6: Where Have You Had These Feelings Before? A few days ago we asked ourselves what feeling states were were a yes for. Today, take some time to reflect on memories of times when you had those same feelings in your life. When have you experienced those feelings? What were you doing? Who were you with? When you are struggling to keep your vibration up, return to these memories. Recall them and bring yourself back to those moments so you can feel what you felt then. Instant reboot. (Are you seeing the theme of how important our energy state is in manifesting??)

Day 7: Do I Believe Good Things Come Easily? Or, do you believe that good things only come through hard work, sweat, perseverance and sacrifice? Or, do you believe that good things can’t happen to you? What story do you tell yourself and why? Today is all about uncovering your limiting belief around how the universe works. When in particular do you doubt that good things can come easily? Journal about this and see what comes for you. Those times are areas of resistance. We are out of the stream of well being and in resistance when we believe that good things cannot come easily. When we can give up the resistance, we actually feel a sense of physical relief, and it feels good! When we feel good, we can attract what we desire. Practice changing your belief to “my dreams and desires can flow easily to me.” How does that feel in your body? Maybe like releasing a breath you didn’t even know you were holding.

Day 8: Ask For A Sign. Don’t think about it too hard. What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about asking for a sign that your desire will manifest in your life? Asking for a sign is a message to the universe that says you are willing to collaborate and that you have faith in the universes ability to manifest what is in the highest and best for you and everyone else. It says you are willing to be guided by something bigger than yourself and you are willing to release control. Once you choose your sign, there is nothing to do but chill, live your life and trust. You can try using the prayer “Thank you universe for showing me my sign if I am moving in the right direction.” Then, here’s the hard part……be patient. The universe works in its timing, not ours. Your only job is to live your life and feel good. How do you know if you have received your sign? It will be very obvious. You will just know. You will feel it in your heart and body. Now, what does it mean if you don’t get your sign? Well, the universe is always talking to you. So, not getting your sign, is a sign. It could mean that you have not learned to surrender enough. It could mean that your desire is out of alignment for you. Either way, the answer is to release more resistance, surrender more and find more alignment in your everyday life. Go back to those feel good states and allow.

Day 9: A Prayer For Surrender. Since doing my own 21 day challenge, I say this prayer from Gabby Bernstein everyday. It reminds me to be aware of when I am coming out of alignment and wasting my energy on things that I don’t want instead of focusing on what I do want. ” I recognize I am out of alignment when I worry about (fill in the blank, add as many things as you like). I choose to surrender the outcome now. Thank you Universe for revealing to me what is of the highest good to all.

Day 10: Gratitude. We are energetic beings and we attract things to us that vibrate at the same energetic frequency as we are vibrating. So, if you want to attract good things into your life, you need to vibrate at a higher frequency. Gratitude is one of the highest vibrational states that exists. Take a moment to think about a time you felt really grateful for someone or something. Recall how it felt in your body, heart and mind. Did it feel good? Did you feel like anything was possible? That’s because it is when we exist in this state. The more time we can spend in gratitude, the more we will be able to manifest in our lives. The trick is to really feel the gratitude. Not just make a list of what you are grateful for. Make the list, but for each thing you put on it, take a few moments to exist in the feeling of gratitude. Why are you grateful for that thing, person, place or experience?

Day 11: Appreciation. Like gratitude, appreciation is a vibrational state that attracts abundance. It is magnetic and powerful. So take some time today to appreciate what is good in your life. When we focus on what we appreciate, more of it appears. You literally call it in. I invite you today to sit down and close you eyes. Take a few deep breaths and then call to mind 1 or more things that you appreciate about your life. Take time thinking them over and visualizing them. After you are done, take some time to reflect. Write down if/how your mood, your energy level, your body and your outlook on life has shifted? You may feel completely different from when you began. The power of focus. What we focus on expands. Being mindful of where we place our attention can have powerful impacts on our life.

Day 12: Nonnegotiables. Time to make a list (lord knows I love a list!) of your nonnegotiables. These are the parts of the thing you are manifesting that are must haves. Going back to the house example, maybe you would love to have a 2 acres that back up to a woods. But really, your nonnegotiable is to have a yard big enough for your kids and dog. The first would be amazing, but the second is a must. Be clear on what the dream looks like. Get clear, so the universe knows what you want. The more clear you are, the more directed by the universe you will be. But here’s the catch, although we need to hold our vision with clarity and conviction, we also need to leave space for what the universe has in store. We can’t always see what is in our highest and best. But the universe can. So hold your vision, but have faith in what the universe has in store.
